Summa Early Education and Learning Center

To celebrate The Week of the Young Child,  Marty Hauser, President of SummaCare was invited to have lunch with the Ready for School class of  5 -year -olds at the Summa Early Education and Learning Center. Center Director Cindy Usner and classroom teacher Lisa Vespoli enjoyed having Mr. Hauser come to the center to see the high quality early childhood program in action.

Summa Health Systems support working families by providing this program for their employees.

The Week of the Young Child was created by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in 1971.

NAEYC.org says that "The purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention to the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs."

NAEYC believes "The Week of the Young Child is a time to recognize that children's opportunities are our responsibilities, and to recommit ourselves to ensuring that each and every child experiences the type of early environment — at home, at child care, at school, and in the community — that will promote their early learning."
